What inspires us? Is it other people? Their work? Someone you know? When we think about inspiration, what inspires us most are ordinary people who have done extraordinary things. I love what R. Kay Green says, “We appreciate when someone has the ability and willingness to be selfless, creative, innovative, or just dares to be different.”
Here are some people/things who/that inspired me:
1. My first inspiration came from paper flowers I saw at a store. It intrigued me to make my own.
2. My website inspiration came from Ashley,@AshandCrafts, www.ashandcrafts.com
What inspired me about her website was its simplicity and her kindness to create a site for everyone to learn DIY fun projects! It takes a lot of work to create a website, and let alone create tutorials.
3. My inspiration Rose came from Artequeen! You can find them on Instagram.
Storytime: I saw this beautiful purple, paper flower with a rose center and I was so inspired. I messaged Artequeen trying to purchase, but then I tried to make it on my own. She caught me. Haha! I remember her saying ,”I guess you don’t need to buy it, you can make your own”. I was so embarrassed but also honored knowing that I can make something like this too! I am glad she was sweet about it! Haha! After I practiced rose buds, I challenged myself by attempting to make FULL roses. After months of practicing, my goal was achieved, which was to create easy-to-make full bloom roses that would be shared with the world.
4. Inspiration for foam boards and walls came from Shopoliposa, and prettypetals.
All of them are on Instagram. Check them out!
Olivia (shopoliposa) has one of the best backdrops I have ever seen. Although I was afraid to ask her how she made it (being ignored in the past by others flower businesses), she was kind enough to share her knowledge with me. It was a big project but an amazing one! She made me brave enough to venture out of my comfort zone and try something new!

PrettyPetals is all about paper flower wall galore. She inspired me in renting and installing walls. Even though I am still in the process of renting, she guided me step by step on how I can manage it. In regards to a free standing paper flower wall, she are my inspiration. I am very lucky to get advice from her.

5. My children Inspire me.
As I shared in my previous blog post, my business name came from my daughters name. She is my inspiration. Being a business owner and working, you are living for your children and teaching them lessons when they are watching/ living with you (Christy Wright). Our children naturally push us to try harder and not to give up. For many, our precious families can be our biggest inspiration.
These are the people who inspired me from the very beginning. Of course, I have many other inspirations, but the list I just gave have inspired me then and continue to. The amazing thing about inspiration is that anyone can be an inspiration, even those who go unnoticed can be the most inspiring. Giving back and sharing is leaving a mark, helping someone, or making someones life easier. You never know what kind of impact you will leave behind. Without my inspirations, I would be struggling.
Thank you…for those who give back and inspire, for being authentic, for teaching, and for showing kindness. Most importantly, thank you for being there when we took that first step.
